Perhaps an indication of why we’re childfree, my husband and I are both not very close with our families. We have nothing against them and don’t hate them, we just don’t spend a lot of time with them. To us our family is our pets and our friends. We only see blood relatives about once or twice a year, and it’s not just because we live 1600 miles away from them! I’m ashamed to say that even when we lived in the same city as our parents we still only saw them every few months.
